WHY THE WHITE CLOUDS?
I wanted to create a therapeutic service with clouds in mind giving the sense of being held in a soft space but also because clouds are transient, transformational, constantly moving, shifting and taking shape, as are we as human beings. Clouds pass us like thoughts across our mind, giving us hope to see the blue skies after the stormy events in our lives.
'The sky never changes: it is the cloud that is changing' Swami Vivekananda

ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Jen. I am an Integrative Counsellor working and living in Hove, East Sussex.
Integrative therapy is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the individual needs of you, as a client.
My interest in building 1-to-1 relationships with clients and meeting their individual needs started 24 years ago when I began working as a Lifestyle & Nutrition Coach and Personal Trainer. During this time I learned a lot about how to help my clients overcome barriers to behaviour change in order to achieve their desired outcome. My passion for supporting clients with their well-being and helping them to change their lives for the better has been a common thread in my work which has evolved through my growing interest and studies in psychology and human behaviour.
I have been working specifically as a counsellor now for five years in various settings including an organisation supporting teenagers, a hospice supporting the bereaved and pre-bereaved and I also spent three years supporting those struggling with addiction in a drug and alcohol treatment centre.
I've learned that no matter what each individual may be experiencing, collectively my work is about alleviating the universal human feelings of emotional pain and suffering.
Counselling can eliminate or control troubling symptoms so you can improve your well-being. It isn't just about treating the presenting issue but all of the accompanying feelings that are attributed to it. Unaddressed, these feelings can cause or exacerbate mental health problems which prevent us from living our best lives.
"The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change." - Carl Rogers
To heal, grow and move forward, understanding ourselves better is key and that's why talking therapy is so effective. Talking brings awareness to our thoughts and feelings helping us to make sense of things. Empowered with this information, change can then occur allowing us to live more fulfilling and happier lives.
Therapy (treatment to relieve or heal a disorder) really can be a life changing experience and I continue to be humbled and proud of the experiences and transformations that I have been privileged to be a part of in my client work.
